Choose your setup
The Vaicoa app is designed to be used in four ways, and each adds what the one before cannot do. In the order you meet them: free mode is the app with your own read-only token and no account. A free account adds uptime checks that keep running while your phone is off. With Vaicoa Pro, Vaicoa’s servers sync your projects, which brings history, alerts, the agent and dedicated servers. Vaicoa Team is Pro for five people. Start with the first and move on when you need the next.

Free mode
Section titled “Free mode”The app reads the Hetzner Cloud API directly from your iPhone, with a read-only token that you paste into it. The token is stored on the device, in the Keychain, and is never sent to Vaicoa’s servers.
You get every resource with its live state, search, details, charts over the time ranges Hetzner provides, and an estimate of this month’s cost, calculated on the device from Hetzner’s list prices, for any number of projects. Nothing is recorded while the app is closed, so free mode has no history of its own and sends no alerts. Widgets, Siri, the incident brief, iCloud sync and App Lock are part of it too.
A free account
Section titled “A free account”A free account is what keeps running while your phone is off. It does that without holding your Hetzner token: for each check it stores a hostname, a port and a path, and never a credential. The rules are exact:
- No connected project. No Hetzner token is stored on Vaicoa’s servers. Your on-device projects stay on your device and keep working as before.
- 4 check targets, with at most 8 checks in total between them. A check is a web endpoint, a port or a certificate.
- Every 5 minutes, fixed, from two independent networks, inside and outside Hetzner. A check counts as down only when both agree.
- 30 days of history per check.
- No alerts. No push, no email, no webhook. You see the results when you open the app.
- Checks pause after 60 days without a visit. If nobody on the team uses the app or the portal for 60 days, the checks stop running. The next visit starts them again. The gap shows as no data, not as downtime.
- One seat. A free team cannot invite anyone. You can administer one free team; once it is on a paid plan, you can create more.
Your first team is created with the account, unless you sign up through an invitation.
Vaicoa Pro
Section titled “Vaicoa Pro”With Pro, you connect a project with its read-only token, and Vaicoa’s servers read the Hetzner Cloud API every 5 minutes, whether the app is open or not. That is what makes history and alerts possible. The token is stored encrypted and is never shown again.
Pro adds the agent for disk, RAM and warning log lines, dedicated servers, job reports, alerts by push, email digest and one webhook target, and the Claude connector. Uptime checks run every 60 seconds. Pro has one seat.
Vaicoa Team
Section titled “Vaicoa Team”Team is Pro for five seats under one subscription, with higher limits and 90 days of history. It allows up to five alert targets, PagerDuty among them. The agent can also send SSH and sudo log lines, if an admin turns them on, and Team comes with a signable DPA. See Bring in your team.
Buying a plan
Section titled “Buying a plan”A plan covers the whole team. You buy it in the iPhone app: Pro costs €6.99 a month or €59.99 a year, and Team €24.99 a month or €249.00 a year, including VAT, with a free first month if your Apple Account is eligible. Businesses in the EU with a valid VAT ID will buy on the web, invoiced net, shortly after launch Planned. Pricing has both price lists.
Moving between setups
Section titled “Moving between setups”- Signing in keeps your on-device projects on the device, with their own tokens. Your team’s projects appear next to them.
- Connecting a project moves it to your team, so Vaicoa’s servers sync it. See Connect a Hetzner project.
- When a paid plan ends, checks fall back to the free account’s terms, the agent’s reports are no longer accepted, and alert targets beyond the new limit pause. They are not deleted.
